The Duke of Gloucester takes time to visit us at the multi award winning Heritage Centre where our meticulously restored Victorian carriage, No.946 resides. Here’s some more photos from the day where he learns of our work and the tragic Quintinshill disaster..
The Duke of Gloucester learns of the disaster at Quintinshill 1915 and the massive part that the wooden bodied 6-wheel carriages of this type had in the conflagration, added to by the split high pressure gas tanks to provide the lighting.
